Pre-Order Terms

Last updated: 20 August 2026

Pre-order with confidence

Pre-ordering with Lady Bonita lets you secure products that are not currently held as regular local stock. Once you place your order, we arrange the item through our supply network and dispatch it from New Zealand once it arrives with us.

We aim to make the process clear and straightforward. This page explains how our pre-orders work, what our availability messages mean, expected timeframes, and what happens if something does not go to plan.

Important notice for New Zealand customers

Nothing in these Pre-Order Terms limits or excludes your rights under New Zealand consumer law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

These terms explain the practical way Lady Bonita manages pre-orders alongside those rights.

1. What is a pre-order?

A pre-order item is a product that we arrange through our supply network after your order is placed, rather than an item that is necessarily held as regular stock at our Auckland dispatch location.

Pre-order products are clearly identified on the product page before purchase.

Once your pre-order arrives with us, it is prepared for local dispatch and you will receive tracking information when your parcel is sent.

2. Estimated pre-order timeframe

Our usual estimated timeframe for pre-order items is 7 to 14 business days, unless a different timeframe is stated on the product page.

This is an estimated timeframe rather than a guaranteed delivery date.

The estimate covers the time required to arrange the product through our supply network, international transport and processing before the item is ready for local dispatch.

Once your order has been dispatched from Lady Bonita, normal shipping and courier timeframes apply. You can find more information on our Shipping & Delivery page.

3. Product availability

Pre-orders are subject to availability.

We regularly monitor availability through our supply network and may display an availability indicator on selected product pages to help you make an informed purchase.

These indicators may include:

  • Strong availability
  • Good availability
  • Limited availability
  • Low availability
  • Almost gone

Availability information reflects the most recent information available to us when our system checks the product. It is provided as a helpful guide and is not a guarantee that stock will remain available until your order is processed.

Supplier inventory can change quickly, particularly for popular products, limited releases, shades or variations.

4. What happens after I place a pre-order?

Once your order is confirmed, we begin arranging your pre-order item through our supply network.

You will receive an order confirmation by email. When your complete order is ready for dispatch, we will send you tracking information.

You do not need to contact us for routine updates. If there is a significant issue or delay affecting your order, we will contact you using the email address provided at checkout.

5. If an item becomes unavailable

Occasionally, a product may become unavailable after your order is placed due to supplier stock changes, discontinued products, allocation limits or other circumstances outside our immediate control.

If we are unable to supply a pre-ordered item, we will contact you and provide an appropriate resolution. This may include a refund for the affected item to your original payment method.

If only part of a multi-item order is affected, the remaining available items can still proceed.

6. Delays outside the usual timeframe

Most pre-orders are completed within the estimated timeframe, but delays can occasionally occur.

Factors that may affect timing include supplier processing, international freight, customs or border processing, severe weather, courier disruptions, public holidays, unusually high order volumes or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

A delay does not automatically mean that your order has been lost or cancelled.

If there is a significant delay, we will do our best to keep you informed and work with you toward an appropriate resolution.

7. Orders containing pre-order and ready-to-ship items

If your order contains both ready-to-ship products and pre-order products, we will usually dispatch the order once all items are available.

We may choose to split an order where this allows available items to reach you sooner. Split shipping is at our discretion and depends on stock availability and operational capacity.

If you would prefer your ready-to-ship products to be sent separately, please contact us as early as possible. Additional shipping charges may apply.

8. Payment for pre-orders

Payment is processed when you place your order using the payment method selected at checkout, including eligible payment services such as Afterpay where available.

Placing and paying for a pre-order reserves your request for the product, but remains subject to final product availability.

9. Changing or cancelling a pre-order

If you need to change or cancel a pre-order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Because pre-order products are arranged specifically after your purchase, we may not always be able to cancel or modify an order once it has been processed through our supply network or prepared for dispatch.

We do not generally provide refunds solely for change of mind where there is no legal entitlement to one. This does not affect any rights you may have under New Zealand consumer law.

For full information about returns, refunds and faulty products, please see our Return & Refund Policies.

10. Shipping and delivery

Once your pre-order reaches Lady Bonita and is ready to leave our Auckland dispatch location, you will receive tracking information by email.

Courier delivery time is separate from the pre-order sourcing timeframe.

If we arrange delivery, Lady Bonita remains responsible for helping resolve delivery issues until your order reaches you.

Information about delivery areas, shipping charges, tracking, address issues, international delivery and parcels lost or damaged in transit is available in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

11. Estimated dates shown on product pages

Some product pages may display an estimated arrival, dispatch or delivery date.

These dates are estimates generated from the information available at the time and may change if the supply or delivery timeframe changes.

They should not be treated as guaranteed delivery dates unless we expressly confirm otherwise.

12. Availability indicators and stock information

Availability messages on our website are designed to help customers understand the most recent availability information available to Lady Bonita.

We may update this information periodically using automated stock checks. Because inventory can change between updates, an availability indicator does not guarantee that a particular quantity remains available at the exact moment an order is submitted.

If availability changes before we are able to secure your item, we will contact you if your order is affected.

13. Product changes and discontinued items

Brands may occasionally change packaging, product names, formulations or availability without prior notice.

If a material change affects the product you ordered, we will contact you where appropriate before proceeding.

We will not knowingly substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
